LOS ANGELES, CA — March 2, 2025 — Dr. Susan Block, renowned sexologist, media personality, and best-selling author of The Bonobo Way: The Evolution of Peace through Pleasure, is taking her court battle against social media megalopoly Meta Platforms, Inc. and CEO Mark Zuckerberg to the next ring in their ongoing series of legal boxing matches.
With her recently filed counterpunch to Meta’s attempt to strike her Motion to Vacate their wrongful arbitration ruling, Block seeks justice for Meta’s unfair deactivation of her 15-year-old, rule-abiding accounts, as well as for the countless social media users worldwide who have also been unjustly deactivated, censored and silenced by the tech behemoth’s opaque algorithms, contradictory policies, changing rules and arbitrary content moderation practices.
The San Mateo Courthouse hearing for Block vs. Meta Platforms, Inc., represented by Mayer Brown Law, is set for June 20, 2025.
Fight the Billionaire Mind Virus!
Block’s Response to Meta’s Complaint about her Motion is the latest maneuver in her ongoing fight for restoration of her accounts, as well as against what she calls the “Billionaire Mind Virus”—a rising social contagion that she defines in her provocative new article, Fight the Billionaire Mind Virus: In the Ring with Zuck the Snake & on the Range with Musk the Boar, also featured on Counterpunch.
Though partly a parody of Elon Musk’s fetishistic obsession with a “Woke Mind Virus,” the Billionaire Mind Virus, according to Block, is actually a very real blend of power, greed, celebrity worship and censorship that, having evolved through the history of human wealth accumulation, is now being spread aggressively by a rising plutocratic oligarchy of tech lords and their minions, with quasi-billionaire President Trump as their titular “Don.”
Zuck the Snake & Musk the Boar
Though Musk, the Boring Company‘s Boer-loving Boar is ravaging the countryside rather like the Canadian “super pigs,” Block’s current court battle is with Meta’s Zuck the Snake who deactivated her accounts in 2023.
Block’s motion, filed and served in San Mateo County, is a longshot, but it’s St. Paddy’s Season, so she’s “feeling lucky.” Saint Patrick is said to have driven away the snakes, and in this Chinese Year of the Snake 2025, Block’s “Fight the Billionaire Mind Virus!” sees Mark Zuckerberg as a sneaky, slithering, poisonous serpent who should, for the good of humanity, be driven out of our social lives.
“We the People—the users who give these platforms life—deserve transparency, fairness, and respect,” declares Block. “Meta’s algorithmic overreach and its suppression of free speech, alternative voices, artistic expression, responsible sex education, consenting adult relationships and essential modern communications, must be challenged.”
Not Efficiency, Not Masculinity – Just Cold-Blooded Cruelty & Greed
Block’s Meta ordeal began when her accounts, which she’d used since 2008 to communicate with friends, fans, family and fellow alumni, about her life with her husband of 32 years, Pr. Maximillian R. Lobkowicz di Filangieri, and their intentional community of Bonoboville, art, travels, bonobo conservation, politics and work in sex therapy – suddenly vanished without explanation. The deactivation – occurring shortly before Max suffered a major ischemic stroke – effectively isolated Block from her most crucial support systems at a time when she needed them most.
Block’s case is emblematic of broader issues faced by activists, artists, and educators who have seen their digital lives – precious art, work, memories and relationships – damaged, destroyed and erased without recourse, another casualty of “The Billionaire Mind Virus.”
“That’s not algorithmic efficiency – nor is it the ‘masculinity‘ for which these tech lords strive so mightily,” observes Block. “It’s just cold-blooded cruelty and greed, hallmarks of the Billionaire Mind Virus in both virtual and real life.”
