Pineapple Support, the adult industry’s leading mental health nonprofit, will host a free, online support group dedicated to individuals who engage in self-harming behaviors. Sponsored by AdultTime, the six-week support group, “Self-Harm Support and Courageous Conversations,” will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Bridget Bycina and will begin on Wednesday, March 5th, at 5pm EST.
“The self-harm support group is a safe and confidential space where individuals can come together to share their experiences, feelings, and coping strategies,” says Bycina. “We will explore the underlying emotions and triggers of self-harm, discuss effective coping mechanisms, and provide a supportive environment for healing and growth.”
Key features of the group will include:
Sharing experiences: participants can discuss struggles, fostering healing and self-awareness.
Coping strategies: exploring alternative methods to manage emotional pain, such as mindfulness, journaling, art therapy, and physical activities.
Support system: building supportive relationships, offering encouragement and accountability.
Resource sharing: information on professional mental health resources, hotlines, and additional organizations will be provided.
Pineapple Support was founded by British performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has connected over 14,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support.
“There is immense power in coming together to openly discuss mental health challenges without judgment,” says Tanit. “This support group provides a safe space to explore emotions, reduce feelings of shame, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. We are deeply grateful to AdultTime for making this vital resource possible.”
The Self-Harm Support and Courageous Conversations group begins on Wednesday, March 5th, at 2pm PST / 5pm EST / 11pm CET, and will run for six weeks, with each session lasting 60 minutes. For more information and to reserve a spot, visit pineapplesupport.org/support-groups.
