April 8, 2025 – This April marks an extraordinary milestone for Pineapple Support as the nonprofit organization celebrates its 7th anniversary of providing critical mental health care to those in the adult industry. Since its inception in 2018, Pineapple Support has worked tirelessly to offer free, confidential, and accessible therapy, support groups, and resources to individuals who have long faced stigma and discrimination.
To date, Pineapple Support has touched the lives of over 15,000 individuals, providing essential, stigma-free mental health services and ensuring that no one in the adult industry has to face their struggles alone. The organization’s journey has been one of transformation, growth, and resilience, making a tangible impact on the lives of creators, performers, and industry professionals worldwide.
A Year of Challenges and Triumphs
2024 has been a year of both challenges and triumphs for Pineapple Support. The year began with a dip in donations and sponsorships, but by the end of the year, the organization saw an increase in sponsorships from both long standing and start-up businesses. This shift reflects a renewed understanding and commitment to the importance of mental health care within the adult industry. Despite financial hurdles, Pineapple Support was able to provide therapy and resources to 3,667 individuals and onboard 94 new therapists globally, expanding its network of mental health professionals to offer services in 23 languages.
“As we celebrate 7 years of Pineapple Support, we are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished. The road has not been easy, but we have persevered and grown. The growing demand for our services serves as a reminder of just how vital our work is,” says Leya Tanit, CEO and founder of Pineapple Support. “With continued support, we can eliminate the waitlist and continue to provide life-changing care to those who need it most. Together, we can make a lasting difference, ensuring that mental health support is accessible to every performer, creator, and professional in the industry.”
Facing the Challenge of Growing Demand
As the demand for services continues to rise, at the end of 2023 Pineapple Support faced its most significant challenge to date: a waiting list for therapy services. This marked the first time in the organization’s history that demand has outpaced immediate service delivery. Currently, there are 39 individuals on the waitlist, a remarkable improvement from over 200 at the start of 2024. While progress has been made, there is still much work to be done.
Pineapple Support’s goal for 2025 is ambitious: to raise an additional $120,000 to connect every individual who reaches out for support with a therapist within 7 business days. This funding will ensure that urgent cases—such as those involving sexual assault, suicidal ideation, domestic abuse, and substance addiction—receive the care they need without delay.
Looking Ahead: Expanding Resources for Creator Wellbeing
In the coming year, Pineapple Support will continue to push forward with its mission to provide accessible mental health care while working to erase the stigma that has long plagued the adult industry. Several new resources will be launched throughout 2025 to not only provide mental health support but also improve creator wellbeing across every sector of the industry.
“We are excited about what lies ahead and are committed to creating lasting change,” says Tanit. “Together, with the help of our sponsors, partners, and donors, we will break down barriers, raise awareness, and ensure that no one in our community feels unsupported.”
A Heartfelt Thank You
“None of this would be possible without the dedication of our sponsors, therapists, volunteers, and the incredible Pineapple Support community,” Tanit continues. “Every dollar donated, every hour volunteered, and every voice advocating for mental health helps create a world where every individual in the adult industry feels seen, heard, and valued. A huge, heartfelt thank you goes to every person who has supported us on this journey.”
