LOS ANGELES—Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub, announced that it will start conducting criminal background checks for all content partners involved with its revenue-sharing program, AVN has learned. The announcement was made in an email newsletter sent on Tuesday; the company sends a quarterly newsletter to the platform’s content partners.
Described as a measure to boost trust and safety for creators and users, the new policy is required for both new and existing content partners when they apply to be admitted into Pornhub’s content partner program, which additionally allows adult content creators to generate income from an ad revenue sharing scheme.
“To further protect our creators and users, all new applicants must now complete a criminal background check during onboarding,” reads the newsletter. “Existing content partners (like you) will need to do this in 2026.
“This measure helps prevent individuals with criminal histories from joining our platform and supports a safer, more trustworthy environment,” the newsletter goes on to explain. “Starting early next year, we’ll be conducting these checks for all content partners currently on our platform.”
“We will contact you with instructions for securely completing a background check at no cost to you. These steps are essential to maintaining the integrity and safety of our platform. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping Pornhub a safe and inclusive community.”
