SWOP Behind Bars is a non-profit service organization that is based on human rights, harm reduction, services provision, and prison and jail outreach.
Their services are accessible to all individuals in the sex trade, both current and former, through the Sex Worker Community Support line and its associated chat feature. They collaborate directly with sex workers, survivors of human trafficking who have experienced incarceration, and individuals seeking peer support, resource referrals, and crisis care.
They ensure that incarcerated community members are aware of the support line, providing them with information to support re-entry and access to gap services upon release.
Their support line operators include representatives from the communities they serve, as well as experts in domestic violence and crisis management.
People discover the support line through various channels, such as internet searches, word of mouth, referrals from service providers, and promotion on adult platforms.
