(Los Angeles, CA / September 4, 2025) – JustFor.fans founder/CEO Dominic Ford is lending his voice to a powerful new WIRED magazine article, “The Internet Revolutionized Porn. Age Verification Could Upend Everything,” which explores the growing threat of censorship and overregulation in the adult industry.
A longtime advocate for performer rights and digital privacy, Ford joins other leading voices in the industry to call out sweeping age-verification laws now spreading across the U.S. and U.K. – laws he says are less about protecting children and more about ‘legislating morality’.
“This isn’t about kids,” Ford tells WIRED’s Jason Parham. “Could you imagine if they thought this way about [the lack of] gun control, which is actually killing children?”
The feature outlines how the current wave of legislation could devastate performer incomes, force platforms out of entire states and infringe on the privacy of adult consumers. Ford, who launched JustFor.fans in 2018 to give independent creators more autonomy and control, emphasized that the industry is not ignoring safety concerns; in fact, it’s already working to self-regulate.
“Our site, and most adult sites, participate in voluntary tagging so that filters and blocking software can easily block us,” he said, describing these tools as “highly effective and easy for any parent to use to restrict their child’s access to parts of the internet.”
Ford’s inclusion in the WIRED feature reaffirms JustFor.fans’ position as a leader in platform technology, as well as advocacy and community defense during a time of increasing political hostility toward sex work and queer expression online.
