Terry Stephens, a maverick producer, started off selling porn on VHS when the business was extremely illegal in the mid 1990s before a serendipitous encounter with a customer provided him the opportunity to make his first amateur film. He was raided a few years later after gaining prominence as an amateur producer on the popular Viewers Wives series from Your Choice in Holland, while he was doing the rounds selling films by mail order and door to door. A two-year judicial battle ensued.
Meanwhile, Terry was gaining fame with his new One-Eyed Jack gonzo series of pictures, which landed him a 7-movie distribution deal to produce new movies for Extreme Associates in the US, but the firm ran into troubles and stopped at 5 films.
Terry co-founded Wrist Action Entertainment with a partner, a DVD distribution company that supplies sex shops throughout the UK. The challenges with a newly legalized sector necessitated a deliberate effort to set standards, and UK Adult Producers was born from a chance gathering of producers to form a group under the moniker “Producers for A Pint.”
UKAP (as it was later known) was a group of producers who engineered the much-needed changes that were required in a largely unregulated industry that later found itself defending the right to produce adult content for sale in the UK and its numerous challenges from theR18 Online, ATVOD, and Age Verification while gaining momentum with his award-winning series Real Couples (which was featured on Playboys Sexcetera) and juggling productions and daily politics.
Terry became the default chairman for the whole 5-year term after years of serving as a secretary to the successive administrations during a 10-year period and handled the UKAP Awards from 2014 to 2018. Terry has been residing in Bulgaria since the pandemic and continues to profit and market his website.
