Oppenheimer and Barbie might be soaring at the summer box office, but to truly ‘beat the heat,’ discerning New Yorkers take to the one place they always have when the dog day comes upon us; Rick’s Cabaret New York. And while movie releases calculate boffo box office calculations, Rick’s tops them all….with its Smoking Deck and Garden on the club’s roof.
Margot Robbie in bright pink and Cillian Murphy acting his way around a period piece are all well and good, but a two-hour-plus movie can’t beat hanging at one of the world’s best-known strip club’s roof deck, smoking a cigar, and sharing a cool drink with a hot girl. And Rick’s top deck offers a view of one of the world’s most famous landmarks, The Empire State Building.
“Oh yeah, Margot Robbie as Barbie; she’s definitely hot,” a group of three Rick dancers agree. “But Rick’s is filled every night with all of us ‘dolls,’…and we lot to get up and out with the customers enjoying the view.”
On the three floors below, inside the 10,000 square foot club, 100+ dancers populate Rick’s mid-Manhattan location, 7-days-a-week until 4 am. VIP packages are available, as are drink specials, a top-rated steakhouse locate inside the club, and serving late, big-screen T.V.s for watching the infamous New York summertime sports teams. And seeing as it is summer, lots of the Rick’s girls are walking around keeping cool in bikinis.
“Going out on a date for a Saturday night movie, sure, that’s cool,” Rick regular RG, enthuses. “But Rick’s is the place my friends and I come to where we can really relax, beat the heat…and even get up on the roof with a drink, a smoke, and a few cuties keeping us company.”
