Pineapple Support, the adult industry’s leading mental health nonprofit, will host a free, online support group, “Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating,” for performers dealing with eating-related issues and body image concerns. This six-week support group will provide a safe and supportive environment to explore personal relationships with food, body, and self. Led by Pineapple Support therapist Claire Fountain, the group will begin on December 10th at 11am PST.
“Whether you’re experiencing an eating disorder or struggling with body image, this group is a chance to find support, community, and understanding,” says Pineapple Support therapist Claire Fountain. “We’ll work together to build a healthier relationship with food and body, focusing on support and shared resources to foster healing and self-acceptance.”
Pineapple Support was founded by performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has connected over 14,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support.
“Healing our relationship with food and body image is an important part of mental wellness,” says Tanit. “This support group will offer individuals a compassionate and guided space to openly explore these challenges, with the support of our experienced therapists.”
The “Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating” support group begins on December 10th at 11am PST (2pm EST / 8pm CET). Sessions will last approximately one hour and will take place weekly on the same day until January 14th.
