When did you first get interested in travel?
I have been interested in travel ever since I was a little kid. Having parents that are 1st generation Canadians and having family in another country gave me the opportunity to travel as a little kid. Meeting people from different walks of life, new cultures is fascinating to me.
What is the sexiest trip you’ve ever been on? What made it so sexy?
My first sexiest trip was my first trip to a place in France called Cap D’Adge. It was my first time being around so many different nationalities and lifestyles and the freedom of being 100% nude was something that I had never had a chance to experience (in public). Working at Desire Resorts on property back in the day, I never got to be naked at work LOL, no matter how hard I tried and it was something that I was very intrigued about, so when I got to go to Cap, I fell in love with the nude aspect.
What’s your favorite thing about the swinging lifestyle?
My favorite thing would have to be the openness and the judgement free side of it. I like that no matter where you come from, where you live the lifestyle allows you to be whoever it is you are, and no one looks at you funny about it. That’s pretty awesome.
How is a lifestyle cruise different from a “vanilla” cruise?
Well, firstly I don’t know many vanilla cruises that allow you to be topless or nude or to host playrooms where you can enjoy and make some fantasies come true. That right off the bat is a huge difference! Then there’s the freedom you get of being around other like-minded cruisers who are not going to judge you for wearing lingerie to dinner or attending a seminar on how to give your partner the best blowjob. Joining meet & greets where you will have the chance to connect with other cruisers with the same kinky thoughts and wants is something you will not find on a vanilla cruise.
Can single swingers also go to lifestyle destinations?
Of course, they can. There are many options out there for singles to enjoy, being single myself it’s always nice to know that singles are not an outcast and we can enjoy ourselves and respect our fellow vacationers. For example, our Temptation Caribbean cruise opens their arms to singles and we have many fun things planned for them onboard.
A lot of people who’ve never been to a lifestyle event or travel destination may feel pressured to have sex with others, even if they’re first timers or nervous. What advice do you have for them?
My first advice would be do not have any expectations. I think that’s where many people go wrong. You have this idea of what is going to happen, what should happen and if it doesn’t then your disappointed. My advice is to go with an open mind, try and meet as many people as possible, join as many events as possible or parties at the event and let things flow. No one should pressure you to do something you are not ready for and if they do, that’s not the right person you should be meeting.
Name 5 things that any newbie lifestyler should pack for their first lifestyle travel event.
What makes Temptation such a hot cruise for guests to attend? The Temptation cruise is a must for many reasons but mainly- The hundreds of people you will meet onboard and be able to connect with that are like minded. The amazing entertainment and seminars we are having will make for nonstop sexy fun, our topless optional pool and sun decks are always a hot point, and we are introducing a new feature onboard this February, a Clothing Optional Area for couples. This new area is introducing our new conceptual resort in the Dominican Republic, Temptation Grand Miches Resort for couples only. This is going to be a great added bonus on our cruise and we are excited to be able to host it.
How can a lifestyle travel experience help couples connect with each other in new ways?
A lifestyle travel experience can allow couples to communicate more openly their needs and wants. Keeping an open line of communication is key and in an atmosphere like a cruise or resort where all aspects are geared towards rekindling romances or reigniting passions that may have been put to the side due to work, family, kids, daily routines, there really is no better place to relax, let loose and enjoy your surroundings. It allows couples to try new things like a playroom that they may not get a chance to back home, fulfill some fantasies that are easier to bring to life at a lifestyle friendly spot then back home.
In the pandemic (or post-pandemic) era, a lot of people are hesitant about attending a lifestyle event (and even traveling to it). How are Desire cruises and Temptation helping guests alleviate stress about their health?
You would think that would be case, but thankfully our concepts have been doing very well in the midst of the pandemic. Our concepts are not very social distance friendly, so the key is for our guests to make sure they are taking care of themselves and taking the precautions they feel comfortable taking. At the end of the day, it is the responsibility of each individual to assess their choice of travelling during a pandemic. Our cruises and resorts have taken the necessary measure to ensure they are vacationing in a sanitary and safe space, all our staff is monitored for symptoms, we have strict protocols for cleanliness where continuous and effective disinfection of in room surfaces and air conditioners are done, constant disinfection of high contact areas every 30 minutes, contactless technology and so much more.
What about you and your own story.
My story ☹ oh geez. Okay, well I have a sister who lives in Canada with my Mom, my aunt, uncle and cousins live in Argentina (where my parents are from). I love to play sports, softball, basketball and I have played them my entire life and continue to do so here in Cancun, particularly Volleyball. Many of our guests who were around when Desire first opened in 2003 and I was part of the entertainment staff would know this as I was always around for volleyball with guests 😊. I went to college in Toronto, Canada where I played for my college volleyball team and studied Hotel Management. Six months after graduating I moved to Mexico for a 6-month contract and almost 20 years later I’m still here. I have been fortunate enough to travel within Mexico throughout my years and it is a beautiful country with so much culture. Now, this does not mean I don’t miss Toronto, because I do. I have friends that I’ve known and still keep in touch with since high school, my family that lives in Canada, however I do not miss 9 months of cold, wet winter weather lol. The beach and ocean are one of my favorite things, especially the Mexican Caribbean. I have been very lucky and have been able to travel to over 20 different countries and hundreds of cities which is something that I hope to continue to do for a long time. This pandemic has really showed me and a lot of other people that when something is taken away, you really learn to appreciate it more then you ever thought, we cannot take these little freedoms for granted.
What brought you to work for Original Group?
I came to Original Group back in 2003, when Desire Riviera Maya first opened and I formed part of the entertainment staff. I was working in Puerto Vallarta at the time and was offered a position on the team, granted they neglected to tell me a few details about the resort, like it was clothing optional and lifestyle friendly. So needless to say, it was a shock when on my first day a couple starts taking their clothes off at the pool. I remember the first 2-3 week my dark sunglasses never came off during the day. I wasn’t sure how to not stare at all these naked people, it was uncomfortable for me because I did not want to offend anybody by staring, but it was hard (no pun intended) to not stare. I was 25 years young at the time and had mayyyyybe seen a handful of naked men in my life, so I wasn’t sure how to react. Luckily, the couples were some of the nicest people I had ever met, and they made me feel comfortable, go figure, a guest making a staff member feel comfortable. I appreciated it and it did not take me long to take off the sunglasses and get used to it. It also made me feel more comfortable in my own skin, the confidence of the women to be who they are and to not care what anyone else was thinking, is powerful. It helped me to learn that being a size 4 is not the sexy part, being you and embracing all the curves, imperfections and ´flaws´ as we call them is sexy. Remembering that we all are different shapes and sizes and that is what makes things fun. It’s been many many years and countless events that I’ve attended and every time I learn something new about myself. I think that is the most powerful thing about the lifestyle friendly experiences and places.
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy anything active especially if it is outdoors. Living in Cancun I have access to some amazing natural beauty like cenotes and ruins, but the beach and ocean are always on the list. I also enjoy the movies, I’m a big fan of the movie theatre experience, which includes the biggest bucket of popcorn I can get. I also enjoy cooking, using recipes for the main parts and then kinda going off on my own to see what happens. As long as no one gets salmonella, how bad can it be 😉
What’s a typical day for you?
Typical day would include waking up early (not a fan of sleeping in) doing some kind of activity /workout, breakfast (always) now a days work from home a few days of the week, go to the office and go to the resorts a couple days of the week, put in a good long day of work making sure our cruises are moving along nicely, end of workday, come home, big fan of tik tok LOL so a little time is spent on there and a little Netflix, cook dinner and bed.
Favorite Food, Drink, and Destination
I have 3- Favorite food creamy pasta, Argentinean Asado and anything chocolate (not together) Favorite drink of course there are 2, it would have to be Michelada, so yummy. Mexican favorite and Mate, an Argentinean drink! Favorite destination (so far, as I have many places yet to visit) would have to be a tossup between Barcelona and Rome. These 2 places fascinate me, Barcelona for the culture and food and Rome for the architecture and history. How the monuments, amphitheaters and ancient buildings structures were built so long ago without modern machinery is fascinating to me. I could spend days looking at all the buildings.
