PENNFIELD, N.Y.—AVN Hall of Famer Tom Byron announced his return to public life, which will kick off with his first appearance at an adult industry show event in 10 years. He will visit the Exxxotica Expo, to be held in Edison, New Jersey, from October 25-27.
Byron told AVN he will attend in support of his “THAT Dude Podcast,” which launched in July with adult icon Christy Canyon appearing as his first guest. The broadcast is currently seeking interested sponsors, Byron said, and will “have a different mix of guests on the show, not just porn people,” he added.
“Comedian Jim Norton has agreed to appear. I’ll be talking to people from my past growing up, my personal trainer who is a bench press record holder, old friends like Pauly Shore, athletes, politicians, just a mix of different personalities that I’ve encountered on my crazy journey as well as lots of porn stars past and present,” Byron said.
An upcoming biography, titled Fame Is a Whore on Butt Row: The Tom Byron Story, was completed with author Mike Sager and is slated for upcoming publication.
While promoting various projects at Exxxotica, Byron said he also looks forward to seeing friends and colleagues, as well as meeting new industry members and show attendees.
Byron has been in semi-retirement for several years after moving from California to the East Coast in 2019. His career stretches back to the ‘80s, and, in 1985, he won his first AVN Award for Best Couples Sex Scene, when he was paired with Ginger Lynn, in Jerry Ross’ Kinky Business—one of many to come over the years.
