The Floridan Palace Hotel in Tampa will join the Tapestry Collection by Hilton and undergo a $25 million renovation.
The hotel will remain a member of Best Western’s BW Premier Collection until the end of the third quarter of 2023.
Hotel owner 1754 Properties said it plans to position the hotel as one of downtown Tampa’s most upscale hotels. As part of the property’s renovation and rebranding, the hotel has hired a retail leasing broker to curate boutique-style retailers and restaurants that will become amenities of the hotel.
1754 Properties CEO Joe Smith said joining Tapestry Collection is a “natural fit” because guests get “the consistency, reassurance and benefits of Hilton’s reservations system, rewards program and globally recognized brand” while the hotel preserves “the unique, independent hotel experience so many modern travelers value.”
The Floridan is a 19-story hotel that opened in 1926 as Tampa’s tallest building. The hotel has 212 guestrooms and 14,000 square feet of meeting space.
