As we rapidly approach the end of 2020, the year of COVID, 2019 haunts me like that party you describe as the best night ever, except I did it twice.
June 2019, I celebrated my 50th birthday by throwing what I described as “An Erotic Birthday Experience.” CoCo Studios, a small film studio in Atlanta, located a stones-throw from Georgia State University and Georgia Tech, trendy restaurants, high-end shopping and condos selling for as much as $1M, provide the perfect canvas to paint my vision on.
For my 50th birthday, I wanted experiences that would bring me joy; that would excite me and linger in my dreams. Guests flew and drove from as far south as south Florida and as far north as Connecticut. There were rope bunnies suspended in what I describe as a birdcage but was actually a yoga swing. I was serenaded by a guitarist and posed on the step & repeat every chance I got.
There were burlesque performances, plexiglass platforms with dancers and a giant champagne glass where the lovely Naomi Vul Seyy (backward spells, “Yyes Luv I Moan”) mesmerized us as she played in the “bubbles.”
Coco created a dungeon room complete with St. Andrews cross, stockade and various tools of the kinky/bdsm trade. Her creativity extended itself to the floral arrangements which were finished with a ballgag. The ambiance in the room was sultry thanks to the red chandeliers and perfectly placed LED lights that lined the room.
The event was intimate, eye catching and left you wanting more. The day after the party, I took the day to celebrate my birthday with my family and friends and the next day, we began planning the next Casey Carter Experience … Casey Carter’s Holiday Fetish Ball.
The weeks following my birthday party, I received several DMs and text messages from people wanting to know why they hadn’t been invited or wanting to be on the guest list for the next experience. Social media wanted to know when was the next event and how could they get in? When I put out the call for demos, they started coming in immediately.
The challenge was how to top the last event without going overboard on the budget. We booked with CoCo immediately because we loved her location, her team and CoCo. She was able to see the vision for my birthday party and so when we said we were coming back with a similar idea, her mind flooded with ideas. We locked in the dj and the dancers immediately and then began brainstorming what would our guests like to see that they haven’t seen already. Most of the kink community in Atlanta knows each other. We’ve been to or participated at events together so what could be done to leave the audience in awe.
Not wanting to give away too much, let’s just say we did the damn thing. Almost a year later, people are still talking about the naked trio, the female rigger, the naked dark tantra, the cigar tent and the Santa Baby performance.
Just like my birthday party where guests came from various states along the east coast, the guests for the ball came from an even larger geographic area. They traveled from as far west as Denver, CO and the big state of Texas. Neighboring states Tennessee, Alabama and North Carolina made the drive and family flew in from New York.
We danced, smoked cigars, gave spanks and received them. The 2019 Holiday Fetish Ball was the sexiest party of the year in Atlanta. Had COVID19 not ravaged the country, December would have once again been the date of another Holiday Fetish Ball.
And were it not for the support of Lorenzo, my vision would not have seen the light of day let alone been so amazing.
I revisit those moments often because they remind me what life was like before COVID. They remind me to live every single moment of life to the fullest. They also remind me COVID19 isn’t forever and there are so many people who have yet to have a Casey Carter Experience.
As I take this trip down memory lane, we’re looking forward to planning an experience for 2021 only this time, we’re taking the show on the road.
