Sex Tech, in broad terms, is any technology relating to and enhancing the sexual well-being of people. There are as many types of sex tech as there are people who enjoy it! In this article, we’ll explore some examples of the various objects available for your pleasure.
Vibrators
Vibrators have come a long way from the days of the [still amazing] magic wand. Today, vibes come in all kinds of sexy shapes and sizes. Vibrators are now sleek and discreet. There are vibes that stimulate the clitoris and G-spot simultaneously, vibes that are wearable, and vibes that will just send you to the moon in excitement.
Remote Sex Products
Since the COVID19 pandemic hit, we have been lucky that technology is available for not just communication, but also remote sex. There are several toys on the market that can be used with a partner remotely. For example, Kiiroo makes a vibrator and a sleeve that allows one user to feel a sensation in response to the actions of a remote partner. Lovense also make several toys that are remotely controllable.
Nipple & Clitoral Clamps
Clamps are a much-overlooked item of sex tech. The light pressure that clamps can create on the nipples or clit can be very appealing. In addition, some people like to go a bit further and squeeze them tight to create an enjoyable pain. I may be a bit biased in my delight over clamps as my company, Stript Erotic DesignsTM, makes decorative nipple clamps in various styles and sizes to fit each user’s unique taste.
Plugs
Plugs are used in the anal area. They have a shaft and a bulbous base. The base is bulbous to prevent it from getting lost in your booty. It is important to use a plug, rather than a dildo for that area because your rectum will “suck” in anything without something holding it back. Today, plugs can vibrate, thump, and bump! A whole world of anal action exists to stimulate the all that is inside the “backdoor”…
Menstrual & Hygiene Products
There are many new menstrual products available these days that have gone far beyond the tampon and pad we’ve been accustomed to. The Flex disc looks like a disc with a basin that catches the menstrual flow. It is advertised as even wearable during sex. There are also several new menstrual cups that improve the catching and insertion process. Check them out in a search online, and you’ll be able to find a huge variety. And the DripStick (gosh, I love that name!), helps people with vaginas clean out the vaginal area after sex.
Applications and Websites
There are several apps now available for sexy listening, learning, and meeting! Audio erotica apps like Dipsea and Quinn will get your mind going, and your body flowing into a hot fantasy. There are also websites for exploration, for example, the sexual discovery platform, Tickle.life, and educational platform O.school. In addition, adult social networking sites like PleazeMe.com and SexySelfies.com allow like-minded people to meet. So many ways to experience sexuality!
These are just a few of the many types of sex tech we are lucky to have access to. The field is still in its infancy, and so there is much more yet to come. Keep on the look-out… It’s going to get even better!
