2020 is winding down. Finally, we are all calming down and getting used to the new normal of wearing masks and keeping distance from others. Here in Florida, many of the bars have reopened and the nightclubs are jamming again. With the recent increase in COVID cases, we have recently been visiting more house parties. There are so many benefits. The number of people is limited, masks are not necessary, and it seems much easier to “be yourself” at these parties. We also like the fact that there does not seem to be the big rush and demand to entertain. With the comfortable setting, friends, and structured environment, it is much easier to focus on yourself as a couple. When talking with others, we have found it is easier to build a friendship and get to know other people.
Partying on a budget is now also a setback in all our minds, and when we are at a house party it is much easier to control the expenses. We still bring the outfits changes, we still can dance, and even better we can pick our own music choices.
Do not get me wrong, we still love the club scene, but the last few months have been a real nice break. Since October, we have literally built more “real” friendships than we have made over the past few years in the club scene. With that in mind, we decided to convert our upstairs loft room into a party room. Previously Brian’s Man Cave, we hired a local “lifestyle” handyman to enclose the upstairs and add a locking door. We are now Installing a permanent stripper pole, dance floor, and we have a light and sound system like no other! Now we can literally hold our own parties in the comfort of our own home. Even better, on the drop of a dime we can run upstairs and start our own party for two anytime we get an unexpected break from work, a hurricane day, or the ever fun “Sunday Funday.”
There has been such a change in the past 11 months, and we are now all finding the positives. Hopefully, we will see you soon! Throwing a house party? Let us know!
